Dave Brown

Our Chief Industry Officer, Dave has been a leader and innovator in the food industry for over fifteen years. He brings a vision to revolutionize the food industry through a data-driven approach to decision making. Prior to Austin Labs, Dave was the Senior Director of Business Management at Smithfield, the largest pork producer in the world. At Smithfield and earlier at Farmland and John Morrell, he has been involved in virtually all aspects of business management functions in the food industry. He has led sales, managed products, and run scheduling and operations. While there, Dave oversaw building and adoption of modern software tools such as Product Availability System, Scheduling, and Inventory Management, which are still in use today. Dave has a MS in Agronomy, & an MBA from Kansas State University.
